Ms. Ellie Ruth Terry Gettys, age 80, of Lattimore, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Born December 10, 1934 in Rutherford County, to the late James and Laura Terry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Claudia Baynard and Eva Jones; one brother, David Terry.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Gettys of Spindale; Bobby Gettys and Danny Gettys of the home; one daughter, Judy Sparks of New House; three grandchildren, James Gettys, Daniel Sparks and Brandi Sparks of New House; two great-grandchildren, Connor Wilson of New House and Mckenzie Sparks of Rutherfordton.
Ellie was of the Baptist faith and loved to read and sew.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Walls Baptist Church in Ellenboro, NC.
