Born July 27, 1931 in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Lester Jacob Daniel Wise and Lillie Maebell Young Wise. He was a member of Reeps Grove United Methodist Church and retired from Century Furniture after forty two and a half years as a machine operator. He was also a lifelong farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Wise, and one sister, Edith Cook.

Survivors include his wife of fifty seven years, Verlene Mosteller Wise, one son, Ronnie Dale Wise of the home, two daughters & sons-in-law, Darlene & Bryan Lewis of Fallston, and Patricia & Wayne Davis of Vale, five grandchildren, Josh Lewis, Garrett Lewis, Robert Davis, Rebecca Upton & husband Ted, and Robin Davis, two great grandchildren, Jacob Upton and Kourtney Upton, brother & sister-in-law, Clarence & Thelma Wise of Hickory, and two sisters, Vergie Hoyle of Vale and Ellen Kiser & husband Ray of Stanley.

The visitation will be held at Stamey Funeral Home Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 6:00PM until 7:30PM.

The funeral service will be at Reeps Grove United Methodist Church Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 2:00PM with the Rev. Harry Andrews and Mr. Ray Leonhardt officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
