Elmore Darvin Stroup

Blacksburg -- Mr. Elmore Darvin Stroup, 74, of 723 Old Chester Road, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Wendover Hospice Home.

Born in Smyrna, he was the husband of Frances Jackson Stroup and the son of the late Darvin and Blanche Upchurch Stroup. Elmore previously worked for the Town of Blacksburg, he was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, and he served in the United States Army.

Surviving Mr. Stroup are his wife, Frances, a step-son; Todd Jackson and wife, Crystal, of Blacksburg; a step-daughter, Tammy Jackson McCain and husband, Scott, of Virginia; a grandson, Christian McCain, of Virginia; a sister, Elizabeth "Sis" Alexander, of Smyrna; and three nephews.

In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and Everette Stroup.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, 20th of October, 2018, from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00 PM in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Grady Gregory officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
