Elois Dayberry Smith

Elois Dayberry Smith age 98, went to be with her Lord on Sunday January 31, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare Cleveland. Born in the New House Community in Cleveland County on May 5, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Armsby and Texie Queen Dayberry. Elois was the oldest member of Second Baptist Church where she was active in the Joy Group and the Widows Morning Out. Elois retired from Esther Mills where she was a cloth inspector.

Elois was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, cooking and working in her flower garden. In addition to her parents, Elois is preceded in death by her husband, Charles James Smith; four sisters, Ethel Wilson, Myrl Jones, Mildred Dayberry, and Georgia Lee Morehead and two brothers, Boyd Dayberry and Howard Dayberry.

Elois is survived by two daughters, Anita S. Falls and husband Cliff of Fallston and Betty Jane Smith of the home; a brother, Ray Dayberry and wife Blanche of Mauldin SC; four grandchildren, Lynn Eason and husband Robert, Laura Lee Willoughby and husband Billy, Mica Falls, and Kara Minter and husband Chris; and six great grandchildren, Kristin Gibson, Victoria Dugan, Noah Dugan, Zachary Dugan, Justin Davis and Kayla Wallace.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Second Baptist Church, in the Fellowship Building, with Rev. Jeremy Peeler, Dr. Vince Heafner and Rev. David Blanton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm in the Fellowship Building, and other times at the home.
