KINGS MOUNTAIN-Emily Alice Hamrick Mayes, 74, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at Carolinas Healthcare System-Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Victor Lee and Rachel Clary Hamrick.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Mayes; sisters, Nellie Sue Fraser, Nancy Mayes, and Annie Rae Bridges; and brothers, Lamar S. Hamrick, Fred E. Hamrick, and Dr. Ector L. Hamrick

SURVIVED: She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia M. Davis of Kings Mountain; granddaughter, Ashely Davis Robey and husband Christopher of Charleston, SC; grandson, Ethan Davis and fiancée Meagan Cubano; great-grandchildren, Kenneth Lee Robey, Adaline Dhalina Davis, Autumn Lilly Cubano, and Emmalynn Rose Cubano; brother, William Keever Hamrick of Kings Mountain; brothers-in-law, Carl Bridges of Shelby, Wayne Mayes and wife Sallie, Morris Mayes and wife Dolly; sisters-in-law, Carol Hamrick, Nellie Mayes, Judy Philbeck and husband Roger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 11am, Friday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service, at the funeral home.
