Mr. Emory Allen, 84, of Lawndale, NC, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2010. Services were held at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Shelby, NC. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Allen served our country in the U.S. Army near the end of WWII and returned for the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leila Mae Crapps
Allen and Robert C. Allen; and 1 brother, Robert Lewis Allen.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Wanda Allen of Lawndale; 1 son, Charles “Chuck” Allen, Jr. of Lawndale; 2 daughters, Janet Lerner and husband Nathan of Miami, FL and Judy Mendez and husband Frank of Lawndale; 5 grandchildren; and 1 sister, Gladys Ward of Florence, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150; or to: American Cancer Society, 1599 Clifton, Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30329.
