Mr. Ernest “Butch” Alexander Godfrey III, 64, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010. A Graveside Service was held in Sunset Cemetery with Military Honors.
Mr. Godfrey served our country in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Col. Ernest A. Jr. and Patty Massey Godfrey.
He is survived by his wife Lenora; 2 sisters, Margaret Miller and Pat Yarborough; beloved aunts, Margaret Brewer and Carolyn Crow; his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Ruth Neal of Shelby; 2 brothers-in-law, Jimmy Neal and wife Amanda of Shelby, and Rob Neal and wife Susan of Beaufort; a sister-in-law, Melanie Morrison and husband Ace; and a number of nieces and nephews.
