Ernest Frank Schenck
 

Ernest Frank Schenck of 113 Lineberger St. Stanley, NC was born on August 13, 1926 and God saw fit to call him home on his birthday, August 13, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital at the age of 86.   He was born in Cleveland County, NC to the late Wesley and Lizzie Spikes Schenck.

Ernest was a member of Brooks Chapel United Methodist Church in Polkville, NC.  He was retired from Gaston County Dying Machine Shop in Mt. Holly, NC.  He enjoyed gardening, watching all kinds of sports, playing cards and telling stories.

Ernest was united in holy matrimony to the former Hattie Mae Watkins on October 18, 1950 and to this union was two children born, Pearlie and Earnest, Jr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Schenck, John Schenck and Joe Schenck and a sister, Cora Lee Stroud.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Hattie Mae Schenck; a daughter, Pearlie Schenck Barnett of Stanley; a son, Earnest Schenck, Jr (Judy S.) also of Stanley; four grandchildren, Angela Schenck and Christi Schenck both of Stanley, Mauritius Schenck (Cynthia) of Gastonia, NC and Chaisaray (Courtney) of Boone, NC; five great-grandchildren, Ronnie Meeks of Stanley, Alexis Schenck, Olivia Schenck and Cionna Schenck all of Gastonia and Zoe Schenck of Boone; three sisters-in-law, Lilly Schenck and Naomi Schenck both of Iron Station, NC and Marjorie Schenck of Stanley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Brooks Chapel U.M.C. with Rev. Betty B. Brown officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM on Sunday at Brooks Chapel U.M.C. and on Saturday evening, August 18th  from 5:00 until 6:00 PM at Springfield Memorial Baptist Church, 2920 Dallas Stanley Highway in Stanley.   Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
