Ernest Lee Dechent, 82, of E. Stagecoach Trail, Fallston, passed away
Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

He was born in Chicago, IL on March 3, 1933, to the late Herman Arthur
Dechent and Nolie Burt Dechent. He was retired from Carolina Freight, Inc.
as a rate auditor. Ernest was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where
he had been a member of the choir, music & worship committee, church council
and Sunday school teacher and also served in the US Air Force.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Rev.
H.A. Dechent, James Dechent, and Louis Dechent.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Lois Hoyle Dechent;
daughter, Mary Caroline Dechent-Washburn and husband Edward of Fallston and
brother William Dechent of Richmond VA.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at
Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Fallston. Condolences may

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran
Church with the Pastor Dr. Eric Childers officiating. The burial will
follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
