Blacksburg - Ernest Sebastian "Bass" Davis, 81, of 111 Holly Tree Circle in Duncan, SC, formerly of 277 Tribal Road, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Gastonia, NC, he was the widower of Priscilla White Davis and the son of the late Ernest and Onie McFarland Davis. He worked at Milliken for 40 years. He was a veteran of the US Army stationed in Germany.

Bass is survived by his daughter, Dana Trudeau (Luke); two grandchildren, Arminda Trudeau and BreAnne Trudeau; his sister, Margaret Boone; close friends, Scott Upton, Angie Upton, Tyra Long, and Edward Buckson; and his cousins, Kathleen Sisk, Rosa Lee Moore, and Jill Robbins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Davis, and his parents.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC, with Rev. Barry Philbeck officiating. He will lie in state prior to the service. The family will receive friends following the service at Dover Farms, 578 Lookout Tower Road, Blacksburg, SC. Scott Upton, Edward Buckson Sr., Kori Lang, Billy Dover, Kevin Kiser, T. J. Norman, Bradon McMann, and Landon Dover will serve as pallbearers.
