Ernestine Estes Maynor
Ernestine Estes Maynor, 87, 1118 W. Cherokee St., Blacksburg, SC, passed away March 22, 2017, at Peachtree Centre, Gaffney, SC. Born in Cherokee County, she was married to the late Zeb Maynor and a daughter of the late James and Bertha Brown Estes. She was of the Baptist faith and a beautician.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter - Gloria Upchurch and husband, Brad, of Blacksburg; four grandchildren - Beth Upchurch of Blacksburg, Stephanie Smith of Gaffney, Heather Guyton of Blacksburg and Erin Helms of Gaffney; five great-grandchildren - Wesley Smith, Whitney Upchurch, Jaylen Helms, Riley Guyton and Brayden Hollifield; two great-great grandchildren - Jayden Smith and Greyson Smith; two brothers - Bo Estes and Cliff Estes both of Gaffney; one sister - Mildred Wright of Gaffney; and one niece - Mary Beattie and husband, Bobby of Gaffney, SC. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one great-grandson, Brandon Jolly; brothers - William Estes, Norman Estes and Don Estes; and one sister - Rose Mary Craven.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-7:30 PM at White Columns. A Graveside Celebration Of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017, 11:00 AM, at Frederick Memorial Gardens, Gaffney, SC, with Rev. James Humphries officiating. At other times, the family will be at the home of her daughter, 1809 W.Cherokee Street, Blacksburg.
Pallbearers serving are Riley Guyton, Wesley Smith, Billy Helms, Tim Guyton, Jerry Martin and Bobby Beattie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC, 29615.
