Erwin Newton Hughes, 84, resident of Greenville, SC, passed away June 4, 2017 at Greenville Glen Assisted Living. He was born in York County, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Conrad Hughes and Willie Eva Dunlap Hughes. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Sue Scism Hughes, six brothers: Bill, Dudley, Jack, Gene, Harry Ray, and John Lewis; and one sister Mary Hughes Barber.

SURVIVORS: Daughters: Anita Hughes Moreland, Greer, SC, Susan Renee Hughes, Greenville, SC

Sister: Shirley Hughes Oliver (Henry), Shelby, NC

Sisters-in law: Clara Hughes and Betty Hughes

Step-grandson: Barron "Beau" Moreland IV (Michelle), Lexington, SC

FUNERAL SERVICE: Graveside Service Friday June 9, 2017 at 2:00 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Blacksburg, SC.

VISITATION: 12:30-1:30 at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, NC

INTERMENT: Antioch Community Cemetery, Blacksburg, SC
