Born in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late William Lawson Hudson and Prudie Page Hudson.  Mr. Hudson was a member of Faith Chapel Baptist Church in Rutherfordton and retired from Hickory Manufactoring.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by three  brothers, three sisters and a granddaughter.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Geraldine Ramsey Hudson; sons and daughter-in-law, Gary and Susan Hudson of North Brook and Tony Hudson of Casar; daughters and sons-in-law, Toddie and William White of Casar, Rebecca and Robert Townsend of George Hildebran, Brenda and Jim Herring, Boiling Springs and Doris Hudson of Rutherfordton; brothers, Jasper Hudson of Rutherfordton and Buren Hudson of

Gainsville, Georgia; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Hudson Memorial Baptist Church in Lawndale with Rev. Jerry Hudson and Rev. John Hudson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 PM at the church prior to the service on Sunday .
