Cherryville - Mrs. Ethel Hallman Adams, 97, of 906 Requa Road, passed away
on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Adams was born on January 5, 1919 in Gaston County, NC a daughter of
the late Jonas Sylvannus Hallman and Nancy Cora Louise Reynolds Hallman.
She worked for Carlton Yarn Mill and retired from North Carolina Spinning.
Mrs. Adams was a member of the Cherryville Church of God.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee
Landy Adams; one daughter; two sons; and 10 siblings.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Adams of Dallas; Ronnie Adams (Joette) of
Cherryville; four daughters, Frankie Mace of Maiden; Linda Dowdle of
Cherryville; Nancy Hillard (Mike) of Salisbury and Debbie Houk (Rick) of
Lincolnton; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and 11 great-great
grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service and at other time the
family will be at the home.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the
Cherryville Church of God with the Rev. Don Capell officiating. The body
will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

Burial will be in City Memorial Cemetery, Cherryville.
