SHELBY - Ethel "Joanne" Spangler, 76, a native of Shelby, passed away Saturday,June 25th, 2016 at Peak Resources.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Double Shoals Baptist Church, 318 Old Mill Road, Shelby, NC on Sunday July 10th, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. with Dr. Brian Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall.

Joanne was born to the late Arthur Lee Spangler, Jr. (LJ) and Ethel Irene Costner (Irene) on August 8th, 1939. She is also predeceased by a sister, Jackie Spangler Taylor.

She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Bolton Skorman and Cynthia Bolton Mohrmeyer; her siblings Carroll Spangler, Janice Spangler, Dan Spangler, David Spangler and Brenda Cook; Joanne loved her grandchildren, Lucas Mello, Amanda Mello Lell, Selena Skorman and Lance Mello; there will always be a special place in Joanne's heart for her great-grandchildren, Landen Mello, Kinsley Cline and Lane Mello.

She was retired from Stouffer's in Gaffney. She enjoyed spending time on the "farm" and talking about old times. She loved her family and friends.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice in Cleveland County and to all of our family and friends who have kept us all in your thoughts and prayers.
