Mrs. Ethel Mae Alexander Propst, 94, of Athens, AL, and formerly of Shelby, NC, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010. Services were held at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery, Shelby.
Mrs. Propst was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Propst; her parents, William Pinkney and Ethel Mae Simmons Alexander; 4 brothers, Robert, Taylor, Jack and Charles Alexander; 2 half-brothers, Arnold and Ray Alexander; and 1 half-sister, Betty A. Jones.
She is survived by 1 beloved daughter, Susan Propst Graben and husband Dave of Decatur, AL; 1 half-brother, Max Alexander of Cliffside, NC; and 2 half-sisters, Sarah A. Hamrick of Cliffside, NC and Carrie A. Pearson of Forest City, NC.
