| Mrs. Ethel Short Black, 76, of 232 Tot Dellinger Road, Cherryville, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Services were held at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in City Memorial Cemetery, Cherryville, NC.
Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her husband, Paul “Tobe” Black; her parents, Roland Short and Bessie Trammell Short; 3 brothers, Ray, Dwight and Clyde Short; and 1 sister, Mazell Sanders.
She is survived by 1 son, Ricky Black and wife Christine of Cherryville; 1 daughter, Phebe B. Beam and husband Reggie of Cherryville; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lloyd Short and Bill Short, both of Cherryville; and 5 sisters, Mamie Mosteller of Longs Shoals, Betty Bennett and Shirley Pruitt, both of LIncolnton, Ruth Pruitt of Cherryville, and Frances Neal of Crouse.
