Mrs. Evelyn Gaynell Vaughan, 72, of Washington Street, Shelby, NC passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Services were held at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will followed at a later date.
Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Olin and Essie Lee Davis Piercy; 1 daughter, Sheila Tonett Gipson; and 3 sisters, Betty Lucille Dawson, Diane Lail, and Frances Howell.
She is survived by husband, Donald M. Vaughan of the home; 2 sons, Harold “Butch” Gipson and wife Jan of Boiling Springs, NC, and Jerry Dale Gipson and wife Sandy of Shelby, NC; 6 loving grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory, Shelby, NC is serving the family.
