Evelyn Jenkins Canipe age 88, died Friday, October 10, 2014 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Rutherford County on November 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Laudice and Cora Brooks Jenkins. Evelyn was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Evelyn loved her garden and her family. She will be missed and celebrated. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Bus” Canipe and a sister, Louine Lonon.

Left to cherish her memories are a son, Charles E. Canipe of Hollis and a daughter, Carolyn Canipe Hall of Waxhaw; a sister, Honorii Wells of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Bert Canipe, Cristen Canipe, Alisa Hall Kluthe, Philip L. Hall II; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 14,  2014 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm and other times at the home on Stroud Road.
