Evelyn Loree Duncan
 Miss Evelyn Loree Duncan, 95, of Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center, after a brief illness.  Born in Spartanburg County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Medora Boyd Duncan.  She was a graduate of Blacksburg High School and was retired from Thornwell Children's Home in Clinton, SC.  She was a lifelong member of the Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church in Blacksburg, SC. 
After retiring, she resided at the Duncan Family homeplace in Blacksburg.  She was a seamstress, an avid gardener and loved caring for her vegetable and flower gardens.  In her later years, her greatest enjoyment was sitting on her front porch talking with loved ones, reading her Bible and watching the birds from her chair near the window.
Miss Duncan is survived by six nieces, Maxine Rumpf Spangler and husband, Tom, of Morganton, NC; Mary Duncan Martin and husband, Mike, of Blacksburg, SC; Janice Duncan Martin and husband, Joey, of Gaffney, SC; Margaret Duncan Brown and husband, Pat, of Durham, NC; Sandra Duncan Ryder and husband, Henry, of Salem, VA; Beth Duncan Tedder and husband, Marty,  of Chesnee, SC; seven nephews, Tom Rumpf of Woodstock, GA;  Donald Rumpf and wife, Loretta, of Blacksburg, SC; Donald Duncan, Jr. and wife, Janis, of Waxhaw, NC; Malcolm Duncan and wife, Sandra, of Charlotte, NC: George Duncan, Jr. and wife, Robin, of Gaffney, SC; Joe Duncan and wife, Barbara, of Hickory Grove, SC; and Myers Steven Duncan of Blacksburg, SC;  sisters-in-law, Mildred Duncan Neeld and husband,  Bill, of Blacksburg, SC; Ethel Duncan of Charlotte, NC;  and Dorothy Duncan Wood and husband, Gene, of Blacksburg, SC.  Twenty-five great nieces and great nephews and fourteen great-great nieces and great-great nephews.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers - Donald Duncan, George Duncan and Myers L. Duncan; one sister -  Emily Duncan Rumpf; and two nephews - Kenneth Duncan and David Duncan.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at the Blacksburg ARP Church.  A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the church with Rev. David Rowe, D.D., officiating.  Burial will follow at Cowpens Cemetery, Cowpens, SC. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Howard Klickman, Dr. Andrew Harakas and the nursing staff of Upstate Carolina Medical Center for their kindness and compassion in the care given to Miss Duncan.
Nephews serving as Pallbearers  are George Duncan, Jr., Don Rumpf, Joe Duncan, Aaron Duncan, Adam Duncan and Ian Eckardt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church, 108 South Chester Street, Blacksburg, SC,  29702.
