Evelyn Marshall Lowery, age 76, of Forest City, NC died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Hospice House.

     Evelyn was born May 3, 1934 in Cleveland County to the late George Edwin Marshall and Lucy Horton Marshall.  She worked at the J.C. Cowan plant as a lab technician before retiring.  She was a Baptist and enjoyed word puzzles and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Samuel William Lowery, Jr.; one son, Michael Lowery; one sister, Selma Holland and two brothers, D.P. Marshall and Tom Marshall.

     Survivors include one son; Scott Lowery and wife, Donna of Taylors, SC and one sister, Bonnie Tessnear of Forest City.

     Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ad Hopper officiating.  Interment services will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
