Flint Hill Wins Special Demo Derby
For the second year, the Bar H Arena International Demolition Derby, which was held Sept. 7th and 14th, featured a special Church Demo Derby on the final evening. Local churches were invited to find businesses or individuals to provide and sponsor demolition derby cars for inexperienced drivers that represented each church. The winning car received $500 for their church and second place got $300. This year’s winner was Shane Kirby of Flint Hill Baptist Church who was driving the Francis Bros. sponsored car. Second place was claimed by Chris Little of Unity Independent Baptist Church, driving the Guffey’s Auto & Truck Repair car. Third place went to Wesley Smith, driver of the Humphries Automotive car, and coming in fourth place was Andy “Lugnut” Oliver of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Every driver received a t-shirt and trophy. This annual event does not require any entry fee. To signup, get information and be ready for next year call 704-434-2866 and raise some money for your church.
