Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Shelly Owensby of Boiling Springs and son of Floyd Curtis Owensby Jr and the late Opal Gail Smith Owensby.

Mr. Owensby loved his children and his furbaby children. He enjoyed his outings with his daughter to Chimney Rock. He enjoyed cooking, grilling, and eating. He was loved by his family.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son Curtis Zane Owensby, grandmother, Annie Smith, and brother, Immanuel Owensby.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Selena Owensby of Boiling Springs, SC, sister, Jessica Owensby of Gaffney, nephew, Dontavious Garrett and niece, Opal Garrett both of Gaffney. Mr. Owensby is survived by a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 2p-3p, at Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney, 211 E. Frederick Street, Gaffney, SC 29340. A memorial service will follow in the chapel. Rev. Richard Sellers and Rev Don Paris will be officiating.
