Floye Leonhardt Costner
An eternal celebration began in the early hours of Friday, October 31, 2014,
as Floye Leonhardt Costner peacefully left this world and entered into the
presence of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

A long time resident of Cooksville, North Carolina, Floye had been living
with her daugher, Reba, and husband David Dunkle along with her grandsons,
Dylan and Grayson, in Denver, North Carolina at the time of homegoing.

Floye was born in Cleveland County to William Elbert and Ella Samatha Hayes
Leonhardt on May 22, 1929.  Floye was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus
Christ.  She taught various ages in Sunday School for 50 years.  She served
as the Women's Missionary Society Leader as well as the chairman of the
Board of Stewards at Bingham Memorial Evangelical Methodist Church in
Toluca, NC.  She retired from  Cooksville Hosiery Mill where she worked for
over 50 years.  She was known throught the communtity for her delicious
homemade cakes.  Anytime there was a special occasion in the communtiy,
Floye could be found in her kitchen baking and decorating delicious and
beautiful cakes.
Floye was a wonderful sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and great
grandmother who faithfully prayed for her family and friends.  Although she
will be missed tremendously by all who knew her, Heaven is a sweeter place
because she is there.

She was preceeded in death by her parents,  her husband, Jack Costner; two
brothers, Kenneth Leonhardt and Sylveter Leonhardt;  two sisters, Inez
Leonhardt and Lola Costner; a daughter, Kaye Pannell and a grandson, William
Andrew Self.  

She is survived by her beloved dog, Samson, her son-in-law Randy Pannell of
Claremont, NC; her children, Joyce and husband Bobby Self of Vale, NC;
Jackie and husband Eugene, of High Point, NC;  Paula and husband Marvin
Barnes of Connelly Springs, NC; Paul Costner and wife Jennifer of Vale, NC;
Reba and husband David Dunkle, of Denver, NC; two brothers, Walter Leonhardt
and wife Brenda of Hudson, and Arnold Leonhardt of Charlotte; and niece,
Patricia Lail, of Claremont, who was like a sister to her.   Along with her
Godly legacy she leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and
one on the way, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Stamey
Tysinger Funeral Home in Fallston, NC from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.  

A celebration of life service will be on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Bingham
Memorial Church at 3:00 in the afternoon.  Interment will take place in the
church cemetary following the celebration of life service.
