Forest Howard "Frosty" Houser, age 55 of S. Elm St. died Friday, December 11, 2015 at his residence. He was born on October 1, 1960 in Gaston County to William E. Houser and Dr. Judith Ford Houser, both of Cherryville. Frosty was educated in Cherryville Schools and attended Western Carolina University and Gaston College. He received an associate's degree in civil engineering and was the owner of Houser Land Surveying. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and also attended Saturday Morning Bible Study with Jesus Servant Ministries. He was a former chanter for the Cherryville New Year Shooters. Frosty was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing, boating, and water skiing were his great passions.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Kiersten Houser of Boone; brother, W. Todd Houser and wife, Mandy of Charlotte; sister, Melanie Houser Gentile and husband, Robert of Gastonia; nieces, Maria Gentile, Anna Houser, and Shelton Houser; former spouse, Erica Houser of Charlotte; aunt and uncles, Susan and Eddie Heavner and Ed McMahan; and special friends, Angel Ann Henkle and Alisa Eaker.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 3:30 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 310 W. Church St. in Cherryville with Rev. Dr. Eric Childers officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM in the fellowship hall of St. John's.
