Frances Jean Waterson Choate, 80, of Bailey Springs Drive, died August 25, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Choate was born in Gaston County on May 18, 1938 to the late John and Edith Shull Waterson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cherryville and formerly employed by Travis Knits. She found great pleasure watching TV, going out to eat, and being with friends and family. Frances was also a bookworm.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Choate.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Choate of Crouse and Brian Choate (Angelia) of Newton; siblings, Barbara Wright of Fallston, Tommy Waterson and Lanny Waterson both of Gastonia; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday. August 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of First Baptist Church with Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Carpenter- Porter Funeral and Cremation Services.
