Franklin "Frank" Chitwood Lattimore, Sr. age 82, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Charles George Veterans Hospital in Asheville. Born in Cleveland County on January 11, 1935 he was the son of the late Guy and Gertrude Burnette Lattimore. Frank was a lifelong active member of Big Springs Baptist Church. Frank served in the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed at PPG Industries and retired from Fasco. He was talented at making musical instruments, and knives. In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Randall Lattimore; and two brothers, William Lattimore, and Everett Lattimore.

Frank is survived by his wife, Doris Hoyle Lowery-Lattimore; three children, Susan Lattimore Beaver and husband Dale of Polkville, Phyllis Lattimore Howard and husband Charles of Canton and Franklin C. Lattimore, Jr. and Karen of Shelby; a sister, Phyllis Lattimore Elliott of Asheville; grandchildren, Erin Champion, Adam Beaver, Adriane Howard, Jessica Igwe, Zachary Lattimore, Barton Lattimore, Courtney Slater; and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at Big Springs Baptist Church in Ellenboro with Rev. Paul Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Lattimore Family Cemetery, with Military Honors. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
