| Mr. Fred Wright “Bill” Jones, 89, of Shelby, NC passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011. Services were held at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Shelby. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Jones served our country in the U.S. Air Force, 804 Medical Air Evacuation attached to the 5th Air Force, during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Justice Jones; his parents, Sidney Monroe Jones and Hester Salena Green Jones; 5 brothers, Raymond, Ralph, Sidney, Yates and Z.D.; and 5 sisters, Macie, Artha, Ola, Pearl and Selma.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Lynne Marie Jones Lopp and husband Benny of Shelby, NC and Jean Ellen Jones Thornton and husband Rev. Greg of Tallahassee, Fla.; 1 sister, Annie Mae Bramlett and husband Iverson of Lattimore, NC; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
