Freddie was born on March 26, 1944 in Gaston County, NC a son of the late Roy Towery and Edith Stamey Towery.  He was retired as a loom fixer from Osage Mill in Bessemer City.

Survivors include a daughter, Laura T. Farrell and husband Rusty of Crouse; a son, Freddie Towery, Jr. and wife Amy of Cherryville; a brother, Michael Towery and wife Donna of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Linda T. Jones and husband Bobby of Boiling Springs and Brenda T. Hollifield and husband Dale of Shelby; two grandchildren Elizabeth Farrell and Caidan Towery, also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Freddie was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann Dalton Towery; two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 12:45 until 1:45PM at Stamey~Cherryville Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 2:00PM at Stamey~Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Gibson officiating.

Burial will be in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
