Galon C. E. "Bub" Martin
Galon C. E. "Bub"  Martin, 65, of 395 Batchelor Drive Blacksburg, SC, went to be with the Lord  March  8, 2014, at home surrounded by his family.   Bub was the husband of Janet Sanders Martin and was a son of the late Broadus F. and Estelle Ivester Martin.  He was a veteran who   served his country in the United States Army.  He was a member of Broad River Baptist Church.  Bub was employed by Martin Marietta in Kings Mountain, NC.  Bub loved music and loved playing the drums.
 
Surviving in addition to Janet, his wife of 45 years, are his son - Steven C. Martin(Kim) of Gaffney, SC;  his daughter - Dana Christine "Christy" Ervin(Bruce Pierce) of Blacksburg, SC;  a niece raised in the home - Audra Hajji(Medhi) of Blacksburg, SC;  two grandsons - Noah Martin of Gaffney, SC, and Kaleb Martin of Blacksburg, SC; one granddaughter - Lauren Simpson(Dylan) of Gaffney, SC; one step-granddaughter - Kasey Henson of Gaffney, SC; one great-grandson - Nicholas Simpson of Gaffney, SC; one step great-grandson - Ryder Thornton, of Gaffney, SC; one brother - Belvie Martin(Sherard) of Orange Park, FL; two sisters - Retha Blackwell and Agnes Willis(Tony) all of Kings Mountain, NC;  two great-nephews - Michael and Bradley Phillips both of Gaffney, SC;  and nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two grandchildren -Samantha and Zachery Ervin; his son-in-law, Phillip "Peanut" Ervin; and a sister - Volina Martin.
 
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from 3-4:30 PM, at New Harvest Church of God, Gaffney, SC.  A  Celebration Of Life Service will begin at 4:30 PM with Mr. Steve Hullender, Rev. Henry Coley and  Rev. Robert Wells officiating.  At other times, the family will be at the home.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38101-9908; or to Peachtree Centre, 1434 N. Limestone Street, Gaffney, SC, 29340.
