Gary Wayne Collins

Gary Wayne Collins, 65, of Forest City, North Carolina, peacefully passed away in comfort surrounded by his family on March 12, 2019.

Gary is survived by his wife Teresa of 43 years, daughter/spouses Heather & Caleb Landry parents of Rachel and Anna, Morgan & Craig Keller parents of Joshua and Kiley Keller, and son Aaron & Heather Collins. He is survived by his sibling sisters Frieda Pittman, Mavis Lackey, and Sandra Greene, and brother Steven Collins and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Gary was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to everyone.

Gary loved gardening with over 100 varieties planted in his flower beds, an avid reader, cooking (so much so he has a library filled with over 75+ recipe books) and an avid fisherman as well. His career at the US Postal Service as a postal letter carrier lasted for 25+ years. He has been a faithful member of his church and a believer in God. Gary was always there to help relatives with his witty wisdom and his time. His life contributions are not limited in titles of great husband, father, friend, uncle, and overall a great human that offered all he could; He was loved.

A special thank you to the people at DaVita Dialysis Care of Rutherford County and Hospice of Rutherford County in Forest City for their loving care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their gratitude towards Egger's Funeral Home of Cliffside for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.

Visitation will be from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at Main Street Baptist Church in Spindale NC on Saturday, March 16, 2019. Memorial services for Gary will be immediately following visitation at 4:00 PM. Gary will be laid to rest with immediate family at a later date at his favorite spot.
