Geneva Blanton Ledbetter age 88, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Carillon Assisted Living. Born in Cleveland County on October 16, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Lution Victor and Sallie Ella Scruggs Blanton. She was an active member of Flint Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and played the handbells. She worked as a secretary for different businesses in Shelby. She enjoyed quilting, canning, and gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, Geneva is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Ray Ledbetter and seven brothers and sisters,

Geneva is survived by her two sons, Roger Ledbetter and wife Annie of Shelby, Phil Ledbetter of Lattimore; two daughters, Freida Clouse and husband Rod and Gloria Patterson and husband Albert all of Shelby; three sisters, Virginia Holland of Casar, Grace Francis of Earl, and Ethel Ledbetter of Shelby; six grandchildren, Chad Ledbetter, Jeremy Hamrick, Jason Hamrick, Lacie Jones, Matt Patterson, Michelle Patterson; and three great grandchildren, Bryson Hamrick, Paisley Hamrick, and Hannah Hamrick.

The family would like to thank Leigh Howell and the staff at Carillon for all the wonderful care that Geneva received during her stay.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 am at Flint Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the fellowship hall.
