Gastonia -- George Allison Martin, 92, of 2416 Malotte Lane, passed away Saturday, January 20th, 2018, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

Born in Blacksburg, he was the widower of Gevena Pless Martin and the son of the late John Martin and Effie Allison Martin. Mr. Martin retired from textiles and was a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Gastonia.

Mr. Martin is survived by one daughter, Deborah Martin Phillips and husband, Olin, of Gastonia, NC and two grandchildren, Candice Phillips Trammell and husband, Brandon, and Kyle Phillips and girlfriend, Taylor Robinson; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Martin, and one sister, Geneva Maloney.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Covenant Baptist Church, 3131 Erskine Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054. Funeral services will immediately follow at the church at 3:00 pm with Rev. George Pettigrew officiating. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. Kyle Phillips, Brandon Trammell, Mark Dixon, David Wilder, Travis Wilder, and Bill Pack will serve as pallbearers.
