Mr. George E. Bowen, 73 resident of 1743 Bethlehem Road, Kings Mountain, NC passed away Monday, September 20, 2010. Services were held at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel. Burial followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Blacksburg, SC with Masonic Rites.
Mr. Bowen served our country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Verda Smart Bowen; and 1 brother, Winford “Wimp” Bowen.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lucille “Luci” Caveny Bowen of Kings Mtn., NC; 1 son, Brad Bowen and wife Sarah of Kings Mtn., NC; 1 daughter, Dawn Bowen Chisholm and husband Peter of Gwinn, MI; 2 sisters, Betty Fite and husband Charles, and Brenda Dover and husband Jerry R., all of Kings Mtn., and 2 grandchildren.
