George Glenn Hawkins, 77, of Goode Road, Mooresboro, Rutherford County, died on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on November 27, 1936, a son of the late Earl and Oveida Lail Hawkins. He was retired from Hoechst Celanese and was a Tour Director with Toney Tours. He was a member of Race Path Baptist Church where he has served as Sunday School Superintendent, operated the sound, worked with the R.A.'s and Youth and loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Curtis Hawkins; one daughter, Robin Hawkins Waters and husband John of Mooresboro; one grandson, Will Waters of Mooresboro.
A Celebration of Glenn's Life will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Race Path Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Cooper and Rev. John Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Online condolences may be offered at www.mckinneylandrethcarroll.com
