George Kenneth Blue, Jr.
 Mr. George Kenneth Blue, Jr.; 78, of Lawndale, died on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Hospice of Cleveland County at Wendover.  Born on March 3, 1933 in Rowan County, NC, he was the son of the late George Kenneth Blue, Sr. and Mary Anne Steele Blue.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Daniel Steele Blue.  George was a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina where he was an outstanding academician and athlete.  He was also a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a long time Realtor in Cleveland County, being a founding partner of Lackey-Blue Real Estate Co..  He was presently employed by Allen Tate Co..  George was a member of the Cleveland County Board of Realtors and was a member of the Shelby Housing Authority.  George was of the Presbyterian faith.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Joy Godfrey Blue, of the home; by his four children, Mary Bonnie Blue  and her husband Stephen Butt of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; Dr. George Kenneth Blue, III and his wife Virginia of Lawrenceburg, TN and Dr. Jeffrey Godfrey Blue and his wife Sarah of Atchison, KS., by  Elizabeth (Beth) Jo Blue and her husband Joe Graf of Alexandria, VA.  Three sisters, Beth Foster and her husband Robert of Edisto Island, SC, Mary Anne Crocker and husband O’Niel of Charleston, SC and Judy Proctor of Saluda, SC also survive him.  In addition to his beloved wife, children, and sisters, George is survived by his grandchildren:  Rebecca Blue of Lawrenceburg, TN; George Blue of Atchison, KS, Michael Spero of Atchison, KS, Matthew Spero of San Antonio, TX, and Samuel Blue Graf of Alexandria, VA.

A memorial service celebrating the life of George will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Shelby Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William S. “Bill” Troutman officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Main Sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to:
