George Patrick Johnson, 58, of 218 Wilderness Trail, Blacksburg, SC, passed away October 17, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare. Born in Gaston County, NC, he is the husband of Connie Hedgepath Johnson of the home and the son of Doris Stroupe Johnson of Blacksburg, SC, and the late Claude Johnson. He was retired and was a veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons - Christopher Snipes of Dallas, NC, and Patrick Johnson of Blacksburg, SC; two daughters - Amanda Rice of Gaffney, SC, and Tina Norman of Blacksburg, SC; seven grandchildren; and one sister - Christina Melton of Blacksburg, SC. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Johnson, and his sister, Sherry Berry.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 19, 2015, from 6-7:30 PM, at White Columns. A graveside Celebration Of Life Service will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015, 3:00 PM at Clingman Memorial Gardens, Blacksburg, SC, with Mr. Mike Childress officiating. At other times, they will be at the home.
Pallbearers serving are J. R. Johnson, Jeremy Kiser, Bobby Walker, Daniel Snipes, Barry Wilson, and Mike Dover.
