Gerald Dean Sailors, 74, of Lawndale, went to his Heavenly home on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Carolinas Medical Center - Main, Charlotte.

Born in Cleveland County, on December 23rd, 1949, he was a son of the late Clarence Thomas Sailors and Anther Charline Pruitt Sailors. Gerald was retired from Drexel Heritage, but at the age of fifty he answered the call to Ministry. He would go on to share the word with many different churches and he filled in where needed,

Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Nancy Smith Sailors; two daughters, Melissa Wise and husband, Jeremy of Vale and Dena Joyner and husband, Brian of Vale; three grandchildren, Andrea Wise, Caleb Joyner, and Asher Joyner and two brothers, Randy Sailors and wife, Debbie of Vale and Terry Sailors of Lawndale.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church,

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 1:30 pm at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey, Rev. Harold Benfield, and Rev. Roger Sailors officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
