Germaine Haynes Parker, age 78 died Wednesday December 30, 2015 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on June 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Inez Pearson Haynes. Germaine was a member of Lattimore Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Her family was her life. In addition to her parents, Germaine is preceded in death by four brothers, Jerry Haynes, Jimmy Haynes, Gerald Haynes, and Harold Haynes; and a sister, Shirley Hughes.

Germaine is survived by her husband of 58 years, Glenn Parker; three sons, Glenn Parker Jr. of Lattimore, Ronnie Parker of Boiling Springs, and Danny Parker and wife Brenda of Mooresboro; two brothers, Kenneth Haynes of Cherryville and Vernon Haynes of Florida; four grandchildren, Amy Johnson and husband Ben, Andrew Parker, Megan Philbeck, and Macy Murray and husband C.J.; three great grandchildren, Parker Johnson, Georgia Murray and Clark Murray.

Memorial service will be held on Friday January 1, 2016 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.
