Gladys Dorothy McCurry Dixon, 87, of 1009 New Prospect Church Rd. in Shelby,
passed away August 28, 2013 at Hospice at Wendover.
Born September 1, 1925 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late
James McCurry and Mamie Rippy McCurry. She retired from Cleveland Cloth Mill
and was a member of Ross Grove Baptist Church. Gladys was an avid golfer
and adored her three pet dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben
Dixon, Jr.
Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, Roger & Sylvia Dixon of Shelby, two
grandchildren, Jan Cooper and Leigh Ann Edmondson, and four great
grandchildren, Grayson and Ryan Cooper and Benjamin and Abigail Edmondson.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Friday at Stamey Funeral Home in
Fallston.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
