Gladys Spearman
Gladys Spearman, 78,   Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord, May 15, 2014, at the home of her daughter,  Judy Painter, after a brief illness.  She was the wife of the late Ernest Spearman, Sr. and a daughter of the late Bruce and Rilla Mae Rockwood Simpson.  She and her husband were involved in music ministry for many years as the Singing Spearmans.  She was a member of the Lesslie Church Of God, Lesslie, SC.  

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters - Judy Painter and husband, Jimmy, and Tena Mullinax and husband, J.R., all of Blacksburg, SC;  one son - Ernest Spearman, Jr.; seven grandchildren - Jamie Painter, Gary Shull, Lee Painter, Jeff Mullinax, Daniel Spearman, Samantha Spearman and Dakota Spearman; seven great-grandchildren - Kendra Shull, Lora Shull, Jrake Mullinax, Felicity Spearman, Trinity Shull, Tiara Shull and Brittany Eubanks; one great-great-grandchild - Mason Shull; two sisters - Ann Kise of Blacksburg, SC, and Ethyl White of Gastonia, NC; and one brother - Lawrence Simpson of Grover, NC.   In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Spearman, a daughter, Teresa Spearman, and a  brother, Franklin Dee Gardner.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 18, 2014, from 2-3:00 PM, at Voice Of Triumph, 179 Corry Road, Blacksburg, SC,.   A Celebration Of Life Service will begin at 3:00 PM at Voice Of Triumph with Revs.  Ernest and Ann  Rodgers officiating.  Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.  At other times, they will be at the Painter home, 210 Old Factory Road, Blacksburg, SC.

Pallbearers serving are grandchildren - Jamie Painter, Gary Shull, Lee Painter, Jeff Mullinax, Daniel Spearman; great-granddaughter - Kendra Shull; and Nathan Simmons.

The family  would like to thank Dr. Alfred Ezman, Tara Barnhill and Lisa Jolly for their caring and kindness shown to her during her illness.
