Gladys Vivian Buckner, 85, of 1434 North Limestone Street, passed away Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014, at Peachtree Centre.
Born in Rutherfordton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Erastus Wellington Buckner and Jessie Cumi Price Buckner. Ms. Buckner retired as a bookkeeper for Poole's in Gaffney and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blacksburg. She also loved sewing, especially making clothes for her beloved nieces and nephews when they were little.
Surviving Ms. Buckner is one brother, Harold D. Buckner, of Anderson, SC, and one sister, Bernice Smith, of Granite Falls, NC.,
In addition to her parents, Ms. Buckner was preceded in death by a brother, Johnnie James (Buck) Buckner.
Graveside services for Ms. Buckner will be held Friday, September 26, 2014, at Hickory Grove Cemetery at 3:00 pm with Rev. Scott Hammett officiating.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1612 North Limestone Street, Gaffney, SC 29340.
The family will be at their respective homes.
