Glenn Wray "Mitch" Walker, 66, of Lawndale passed away Thursday January 30,
2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cleveland County on January 24, 1948, he was a son of the late Betty
Walker Born and his life parents, the late Sam and Shirley Jones. He was a
retired self employed painter and was a member of Lowell Baptist Church. He
also served in US Navy for four years. Mr. Walker was an avid hunter and
fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of twenty eight years, Brenda Faye Lail Walker,
son & daughter-in-law, Trevor and Traci Walker of Fallston, three life
sisters, Lynn Jones of Cherryville, and Alice Towery and Amy Jones both of
Lawndale, a very special aunt & uncle, Katie & James Davis of Shelby, a very
special cousin, Angela London of Kings Mountain, and extended family,
Juanita & Roger Page of Shelby, Jake & Sadie Lail of Shelby, Judy & Cecil
Willis of Belwood, Ramona Philbeck of Shelby, Teressa & Robert Wright of
Fallston, Lena & Mike Dellinger of Shelby, and Wayne & Susie Lail of Shelby.
Visitation will be at Stamey Funeral Home Sunday February 2, 2014 from
4:00PM until 5:00PM.
The memorial service will be at 5:00PM Sunday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to the family for medical expenses.
