Gordon Lewis Griffin
Gordon Lewis Griffin, 73, of 3531 Plainfield Drive, Shelby, died Monday,
March 21, 2011 at Kings Mountain Hospice House in Kings Mountain.
   Born January 9, 1938 in Putnam County, GA he was a son of the late
Gordon Willie Griffin and Estelle Bone Griffin.  He was retired from Drexel
Heritage as  a supervisor and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.  Mr.
Griffin served in the US Army.
   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife,
Myrtle Redmond Griffin; two sisters, Helen Hathcock and Jewell Wease; and
sister-in-law, Rosa Mae Parker. 
   Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Meade-Griffin; son, Walter L.
Griffin and wife, Charisse of Waldorf, Maryland; son, Chris Meade and wife,
Sandy of Shelby; daughter, Tracy Burton and husband, Shawn of Shelby; seven
grandchildren, Brandi Blanton of Boiling Springs, Kyle Griffin and wife,
Varina of Orlando, Fl, Shannon Griffin of Richmond, VA, Thomas, Matthew and
William Griffin of Waldorf, MD and Delance Burton of Shelby; three
great-grandchildren, Cory Blanton of Boiling Springs, Hunter Blanton of
Boiling Springs and Skye Griffin of Orlando, Fl; sister, Florance Simpson
and husband, Roger of Shelby; brothers-in-law, Everette Redmond and wife,
Vertie, Harrill Parker all of Shelby and Milton Hathcock of Summerville, SC;
twelve nieces and nephews and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
   Visitation: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
   Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Wednesday,  Buffalo Baptist Church, Shelby.
   Officiating: Rev. Max Turner
   Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
