Gaffney -- Guenther H. Martens, 91, of 1298 Pacolet Hwy, passed away on Thursday, November 29th, 2018 at Ashlan Village in Lyman, SC.

Born in Nebraska, he was the widower of Louise F. Martens and the son of the late John F. and Christina Mourner Martens. He loved everything farming and was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Lyman.

Surviving Mr. Martens are a son, Johann Martens and wife, Elaine, of Lyman; two daughters, Jean Franzetta and husband, Chuck, of Boalsburg, PA and Carolyn Mullinax and husband, Scott, of Gaffney; two sisters, Anita Cauvel and Diane McFall; five grandchildren, Sarah Mullinax, Boyce Mullinax, Christina Mullinax, Megan Martens Szucs and husband, Quin, and Andrew Martens; and two great-grandchildren, Lyla and Malachi Szucs.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Martens was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Schmader.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 2nd, 2018 from 12:30 - 1:30pm at Sardis United Methodist Church in Gaffney. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:30pm. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
