Cherryville - Mr. Guy R. Beam, Jr., 86, of 3694 Hwy. 274 N. passed away on
Sunday, January 10, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Beam was born in Gaston County, NC on May 12, 1929, a son of the late
Guy Beam and Augusta Joyner Beam. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist
Church in Cherryville and was a life long cattle farmer. Mr. Beam served
his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, J. Mark
Beam and Roy Beam and a grandson, Casey Greene.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Gregory Beam, of the home; three sons,
Wayne Beam (Brenda) of Burlington; Benny Beam of Aiken, SC; and Guy R. Beam,
III (Trudy) of Cherryville; four grandchildren, Jonathan Beam of Raleigh;
Michelle Scronce, Lacey (Nick) Dellinger all of Cherryville; Jake Beam
(Becca) of Brevard; five great grandchildren, Joe Hood-Lee, Harley Scronce,
Shy Greene, Ash Greene and Lucy Beam; a sister Peggy Beam Eaker (Jim) of
Asheville; niece, Cindy Luttrell of Orlando, FL; nephew, Brett Eaker (Tammy)
of Asheville; great nephew, Corey Luttrell of Orlando, FL and a great niece
April Luttrell of Asheville.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 11, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:30PM at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service and at other times the
family will be at the home.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Mt.
Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
