Mr. Harold Dean Smith, 65, of 1811 Eastwood Drive in Durham, NC and formerly of 1606 Red Road, Shelby, NC, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010. Services were held at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Palmer Smith and Geneva Williams Smith; and an infant brother, Glenn Palmer Smith.
He is survived by his companion, Pamela Anne Martin Smith; 1 son, Carl D. “Donnie” Smith and wife Alba of Shelby; 1 daughter, Lynn Bridges and husband Rick of Shelby; 1 sister, Barbara Smith Clark of Shelby; his former wife, Nancy Smith of Shelby; 2 step-sons, Cecil Farris and wife Renee of Durham and Kyle Farris and wife Michele of Westminister, MD; and 10 grandchildren.
