Harold Gene Walker, 58, of 151 Barksdale Drive, Casar, died Wednesday, April
27, 2011 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
Born October 9, 1952 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Colonel
H. Walker and Gertie Cook Walker. The family would like to extend their
thanks to Shelly Youngblood and the members of Hospice staff.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Robert
Walker and sister, Ora Lee Ledford.
Survivors: three daughters, Kelly Walker Anderson and husband, Kenny of
Lawndale; Kim Walker Campbell and husband, Craig of Statesville; and Karen
Walker Hayes and husband, Beau of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, Megan and
Derreck Carswell, Blake Anderson, Justin and Tucker Haynes and Mason
Campbell; great-grandchild, Shelbi Lynn Thompson; five sisters, Norma Lee
Gross and husband, Fred, Mae Towery and husband, Gene of Casar, Evelyn Hess
and husband, Lonnie of Lawndale, Bonnie Willis and husband, Gene of Casar,
Irene Ledford and husband, Bill of Casar; sister-in-law, Betty Walker of
Morganton and brother-in-law, Melvin Ledford of Hickory; and mother of his
daughters, Charlotte Walker.
Visitation: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday May 1, 2011 at Olive Grove Baptist
Church, Casar. At other times the family will be at the home of Charlotte
Walker, 4728 Mt. Gilead Church Road, Connelly Springs, NC.
Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Olive Grove Baptist Church,
Casar

Burial: Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
