Hatley Hull

Mr. Hatley Hull, age 80, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2014 at Hospice House of Kings Mountain. He was a native of Catawba County and worked many years in the Textile Industry. Mr. Hull was a member of New Buffalo Baptist Church where he participated and laid one of the first bricks on the foundation of the new Church. He was preceeded in death by his parents and two spouses, Mary Lou (Julie) Hull and Ruth (Mildred) Hull; a daughter, Sheila Watkins; a brother, John "David" Henry Hull and an uncle, Carmie Lee Hull.

Surviving are eight children, Michael Hatley Hull and wife Mary, Kings Mountain, NC; Gail Cochran and husband Billy, Blacksburg, SC; Mary Hull White, Grover, NC, Charles "Chucky" Green, Jr., Blacksburg, SC; Cindy Ellis and husband Micheal, Grover, NC; Carmie Joe Hull, Spartanburg, SC; Fred Lee Hull and wife Libby, Blacksburg, SC; Kelly M. Ball and husband Larry, Kings Mountain, NC; one brother, Alton Heavener and wife Revonda, Vale, NC; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Pearl Hull, Kings Mountain, NC. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, with a special thank you to granddaughter Crystal Sipes, husband Aaron and family, Grover, NC; Julie Anne White, Boone, NC; Brandon, Bryce and Josh Ball all of Kings Mountain, NC; Tabitha, Paul and Bradley all of Blacksburg, SC; and Alex White; two great grandchildren, Mary Lee "Tater" and Torie Heath both of Blacksburg, SC; one great-great grandchild, "J.J.", Blacksburg, SC and a special cousin, Brenda Kay Morris.

He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed just being outdoors taking a walk. Mr. Hull was an avid Sportsman: he enjoyed archery, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and playing softball. His favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins. He will truly be missed by all whose life he touched.

Funeral Services are at 4:00 PM Thursday, August 7, 2014 at New Buffalo Baptist Church, 1010 Lavender Road, Grover, NC with the Rev. Adam Greene and Rev. David Philbeck officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.
