| Mrs. Helen Benfield Ledford, 91, formerly of Shelby, died on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Liberty Commons Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury. A native of Catawba County she was the daughter of the late Buren and Elsie Mae Flowers Benfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willard Everette Ledford; brothers, Bill Benfield and Jay Benfield; sisters, Pauline Sigmon, Ruth Ballard and Ann Coggin. Mrs. Ledford was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Ledford is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Ledford will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 3:00pm at the chapel of Cecil M Burton Funeral Home with burial immediately following in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service at Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
